Years in Accounting & Years at MoneyPenny: 25 years in accounting, 12 of those with MoneyPenny, so I’ve genuinely been doing this for a while. It’s been a rewarding journey, constant learning, adapting to an industry that never sits still, and growing right alongside the organization. Along the way I’ve gotten to work across different areas of accounting while building a much deeper understanding of client service and team leadership.
Favorite App & Why: QBO, or as it’s now called, IAS. I’ve worked with it for most of my career and it’s stayed one of my favorite platforms through the rebrand and everything else. I love the intuitive interface, the real-time bank feeds, the reporting, and how easily it integrates with everything else in the workflow. It makes collaboration so much easier and takes a lot of the friction out of day-to-day accounting for both clients and teams.
A Strength You Bring to the Team: Translating what a client actually needs into clear priorities the team can act on. I spend a lot of my time connecting what the client expects with what the team executes, always keeping quality, accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery at the center of that. I also care about helping people understand the why behind a requirement, not just handing them a task and walking away.
What You Enjoy About Working with MoneyPenny Clients: Getting to work across such a wide range of clients and industries. Every client brings a different perspective, a different complexity, a different challenge, and honestly, a different lesson. I like figuring out how each business actually operates and finding ways to make things better, more efficient, more secure, more automated, while building a relationship based on trust rather than just a transaction.
What’s Something You’ve Learned Working at MoneyPenny?: That being truly client-centric isn’t just about doing what’s asked, it’s about understanding the business behind the ask, anticipating what’s coming next, and earning trust over time. Learning to read both the stated and the unstated expectations, and taking a more consultative approach, changed how I see the role entirely. I’m not just delivering a service, I’m a trusted partner.
A Work Moment or Project You’re Proud Of: Building the team in the early years, while still keeping every client deliverable on track. Training a completely new team from scratch while juggling live client work is its own kind of chaos, managing priorities, sharing knowledge, developing people, all while nothing could afford to slip. Watching those same people grow into their confidence and start taking real ownership made every bit of that worth it.
Outside of Work, I Enjoy: Traveling to new places, hunting for interesting interiors and ideas for my own home, and shopping, especially for miniatures and quirky little pieces nobody else would look twice at. There’s something about the creativity and attention to detail that goes into making a space feel personal that I just love.
Something Most Colleagues Don’t Know About Me: Most people know me as focused and organized at work, but I actually have a whole terrace garden going at home, it’s become my little escape to relax and recharge. I also cook, especially for family and friends, and biryani is my specialty, ask anyone who’s had it. Gardening and cooking honestly aren’t that different from work, you start with the right ingredients, give things time and attention, and the payoff is always better when you share it with someone.
Currently on My Playlist, Bookshelf, or Watchlist: Ilaiyaraaja (a legendary South Indian music composer), especially his retro tracks. His music has this timeless quality to it, and putting it on is one of my favorite ways to unwind and drift back to some really good memories.
Finish This Sentence: “You’d never guess, but I once…”: wanted to be a classical singer, dreamed about it, actually. Accounting ended up being the career, but music never really left, it’s still one of my biggest passions. Somewhere in me, the singer’s still waiting for her comeback tour.
