Years in Accounting & Years at MoneyPenny
23 years in accounting & 12 years with MoneyPenny.
Favorite App & Why
QuickBooks Online is home base for me. Transactions, bank feeds, invoices, reconciliations and reports all live in one place, and I’m never tied to a desk to reach them. It gives me a clear picture of the books at any moment. Then there’s Double, which takes the workflow up a level. Its two-way sync with QBO means I can review and make changes without the file ever falling out of step. Client communication, transaction review, reconciliations and month-end close all sit in one smooth flow.
A Strength You Bring to the Team
Confidence, and the ability to pass it on. Whatever the project or challenge, I go in believing we can deliver, and I make sure my team feels that way too. I also see myself as the bridge between our team and our clients: understanding what they need, building trust, and making sure what we hand over is our very best work.
What You Enjoy About Working with MoneyPenny Clients
The learning never stops. Every project brings something new, whether it’s a different business process, an unusual client requirement or a challenge I haven’t seen before. Just when I think I’ve seen it all, a new project proves me wrong, and I love that.
What’s Something You’ve Learned Working at MoneyPenny?
Building a team staffed entirely by women has shown me what’s possible when women support and learn from each other. Founding MoneyPenny, alongside Sharmila and Penny, opened a new chapter in my life. Every day brings a new scenario, a new challenge, and something new to take away from it.
A Work Moment or Project You’re Proud Of
The journey itself, but most of all, the teams I’ve had the chance to build and mentor over 12 years. Watching someone go from unsure to confident, take ownership of their work and handle a tough client project on their own is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Outside of Work, I Enjoy
Time with family and friends comes first. Beyond that, you’ll find me exploring historic places, glued to a good thriller movie, or unwinding with regional Tamil music. That’s how I recharge and come back to work with fresh eyes.
Something Most Colleagues Don’t Know About Me
I’m an active social worker in my community. I help residents in my locality get access to educational and medical support, in whatever way I can. It’s work I do quietly, but it means a great deal to me.
Currently on My Playlist, Bookshelf, or Watchlist
Ilaiyaraaja and A.R. Rahman, always. There’s a song of theirs for every mood. On my bookshelf, thrillers sit right next to finance books. One keeps me guessing, the other keeps me sharp.
Finish This Sentence: “You’d never guess, but I once…”
…wanted to be a detective! It never happened, but it probably explains the thriller books. And honestly, tracking down the one transaction that doesn’t add up isn’t so different from solving a case.
