Your Role: Senior Manager

Years in Accounting & Years at MoneyPenny: 11 years. All of it at MoneyPenny actually, I never worked anywhere else in this field.

Favorite App & Why: Keeper, no question. It talks to QBO directly so everything syncs and I can check it all in one place instead of bouncing between five tabs. The thing I actually love the most though is that our CPA client and their client can both be in the same workspace, so half the back and forth emails just disappear. And it’s not clunky. You open it and you know what to do.

A Strength You Bring to the Team: Eleven years means I’ve basically seen every shortcut there is across the tools we use. I’m one of those people who if I find a faster way to do something, I’m telling the whole team about it the next day, I can’t help it. I try to push the team towards working smarter. Use the tech properly, cut the steps that don’t need to be there, and get it done right without taking forever.

What You Enjoy About Working with MoneyPenny Clients: First, I like fixing things that are broken, that’s just who I am. Hand me a messy file with errors everywhere and I’m actually happy. Cleaning it up, finding what doesn’t match, getting it to a point where it’s all correct , that’s satisfying to me in a way I can’t fully explain. Second, and this really matters to me, being part of a company that’s women run and has been around this long, that’s something I’m proud of.

What’s Something You’ve Learned Working at MoneyPenny? That communication makes or breaks outsourcing. Not just sending updates, actually listening to what the client needs before they have to ask twice. If you’re consistent about that, the trust builds on its own, you don’t have to force it. I didn’t really get how much that mattered until I’d been doing this a few years.

A Work Moment or Project You’re Proud Of: It’s not really one project for me, it’s more that management trusts my judgment now. They let me make the call on client work without checking in every time. That took years to earn, it wasn’t given to me on day one. Knowing they trust me like that, it keeps me wanting to do better.

Outside of Work, I Enjoy: Traveling with my family whenever we can. New places, different food, just being together away from routine. I always come back feeling like I have more in me.

Something Most Colleagues Don’t Know About Me: I’m pretty spiritual. Wherever I travel, I’m finding the local temple, that’s just part of the trip for me. It calms me down, keeps me steady when things get hectic at work.

Currently on My Playlist, Bookshelf, or Watchlist: SPB and Chitra (two legendary South Indian playback singers). That’s basically the whole playlist, on repeat.

Finish This Sentence: “You’d never guess, but I once… You’d never guess, but in high school I played throwball (an Indian team sport similar to volleyball, played by catching and throwing rather than hitting) competitively. I won quite a few tournaments, but nobody on the team would believe that looking at me now in a client call.
